bme project

What is the campaign about?

Research has found participation levels in sports and physical activity is lower amongst women and girls from black and minority ethnic backgrounds (BME) as well as women from these communities having a higher chance of chronic heart disease and other illnesses.

Herts Sports Partnership is continuously looking at ways of improving and delivering activity sessions and providing opportunities for men, women and children from all backgrounds.

Having received funding from Big Lottery Fund, we are looking for girls and women from BME backgrounds that want to train as an exercise leader for FREE. Alternatively we are calling all women from such backgrounds to join us in aerobics, swimming, badminton and many other WOMEN ONLY sessions we are currently setting up around the county.

Whether you are looking to deliver or participate within sports sessions, using the links below you are one step closer.
