As part of the Herts Sports Partnership’s support for coaches in the county, we've developed a programme of evening interactive lectures looking at some of the great sports coaches - Arsene Wenger, Phil Jackson, Sir Clive Woodward and Jose Mourinho, to name but few.
The programme is entitled Learning from Legendary Coaches and the lectures run at the University of Hertfordshire, delivered by David Turner, Principal Lecturer in Sports Coaching at the university. The programme explores what exactly it is that makes a great sports coach and how the traits of those maestros can help in developing Hertfordshire’s own coaches.
The lecture in December 2010 was entitled All Time Greats and a simplified version of the presentation can be found by clicking here.
During Coach Education Week 2011, the next lecture in the series was Arsene Wenger: Magnificent Obsession, a critical study of this unique contemporary football coach. The lecture explored his formative influences, coaching technique, philosophy and principles. Wenger has transformed Arsenal into a football superpower who consistently produce world class football.
Lectures cost just £10 for all entrants.
