walking for health
The Countryside Management Service runs several Health Walk Schemes across the county. Each scheme has a programme of regular walks of varying lengths and led by fully trained volunteers.
You don't need to book to go out on these group walks, simply turn up at the designated time and place. They are a great way of keeping fit, increasing confidence and reducing the risk of heart disease, stress and high blood pressure. They are also free and lots of fun!
For more information about the schemes, or to view a programme please visit the Countryside Management Service website. Alternatively please contact the North Eastern area office on 01462 459395 for information about the Hitchin scheme and contact the West and Southern area office on 01727 848168 for information concerning all the others.
If you already have a spring in your step then perhaps you would like to volunteer to lead a walk? Call 01462 459395 or 01727 848168 to find out more.
