The Sport and Recreation Alliance have recently launched their annual Community Sport and Recreation Awards. They have been running this awards programme, which is focused on celebrating the great work going on in sport and recreation at a grassroots level, for over 20 years.
The Community Sport and Recreation Awards demonstrate the vital work that is going on at the grassroots level. From the organisations providing youngsters with a pathway from playgrounds to active adulthood, to the clubs making sure that their helpers and volunteers are supported and encouraged to continually develop, this year's winners will be a perfect advert for how the sector enriches lives.
This year they have 5 categories:
- Added Social Value,
- Professional Community Programme of the Year,
- Mental Health
The 2017 Community Sport and Recreation Awards are free to enter and the winner of each of our five categories will receive a prize of £1,000, which will be presented at an awards ceremony hosted by HRH the Earl of Wessex. The awards programme is open to all their members and the clubs of their members so the entry can be from an organisation, club or group.
