Herts Sports Partnership are holding their third annual Community Sports Summit at the Fielder Centre, Hatfield Business Park on Monday 26th April 2010 at 6.30pm.
The event is aimed at voluntary sports clubs in Hertfordshire and will feature a mixture of discussion groups and interactive workshops to focus on some of the current topical issues within the community sports sector. It will include information on the new ‘vetting and barring’ scheme (safeguarding & protecting children) ; funding opportunities; volunteer recruitment, deployment and development; making the best use of the local media; and how local clubs can beat the credit crunch.
Event organiser Peter Simmons, Sports Project Officer from Herts Sports Partnership said “There are over 2,500 voluntary sports clubs in Hertfordshire and they make a huge contribution to our communities. As Hertfordshire’s County Sports Partnership, we are committed to developing a programme of support for those clubs and our Community Sports Summit is part of this support programme. I would urge all those involved in running voluntary sports clubs to join us at the Summit, it will keep them fully up to date with important information and help them to deliver sport in their community to the highest professional standards.”
