Jane Shewring, Business Development Manager from Herts Sports Partnership said: “We have over 2000 sports clubs in Hertfordshire including football, cricket, rugby, netball, bowls, badminton and many more. None of these clubs would exist without the tireless dedication of volunteers who give many hours of their time each week to make sport happen.

These awards celebrate the contribution of the unsung heroes of community sports clubs, whether they help to run the finances of a club, organise fixtures, coach games, raise funds and even wash sports kits. Most people will know someone who is dedicated to helping others enjoy sport in their local community and we’d like people to encourage those people to nominate their local sports club hero for an award.”

Nominations for the Service to Sport Awards 2010 close on Wednesday 30th June and more information and a nomination form click here.
