Herts Sports Partnership’s Community Sport Summit which took place on Monday 26th April at the Fielder Centre, Hatfield, has been hailed as a success by organisers.
The event which attracted around 100 delegates from community sports clubs, covered topics important for grass roots sport, including: new rules on child protection (vetting and barring), finding funding, effective marketing, beating the credit crunch, Building Schools for the Future and finding volunteers..
The eight workshops on offer were delivered by specialists in their subjects and the reaction from the delegates was very positive. Peter Simmons, Community Sports Network Project Officer, who organised the event, said: "Sports Clubs and organisations are coming under mounting pressure from increased regulatory constraints, lack of funding and the increasingly complex environment in which they operate. Herts Sports Partnership looks to keep clubs fully up to date on all the latest developments and opportunities that can help make their life easier. We do this through the Herts Community Sports Summit and our support for the ten Community Sports Networks that operate across the county."
All the presentations from the eight workshops that were on offer to delegates at the Summit are available to view or download in the Community Sports Summit section of the Herts Sports Partnership website at www.sportinherts.org.uk/community-sports-networks
