Herts Baseball Club, who play at Grovehill Playing Fields in Hemel Hempstead, are hosting the National Baseball Championships over the weekend of 4-5 September. These are the Finals for the British Baseball Federation (http://www.britishbaseball.org), involving 12 of the top teams in the country at the NBL, AAA, AA and Single-A levels.
The event runs all-day Saturday and Sunday, with the NBL Final taking place on Sunday afternoon. There'll be American-style catering on hand, such as BBQ beef brisket sandwiches and old fashioned lemonade, and it should feel like a real baseball festival.
Play starts at 9.30am on Saturday, 3 September with play-off matches through the day (last match at 5pm). The event resumes at 9.30am on the following day, Sunday, 4 September with the NBL and AAA League finals starting at 3.30pm.
