What is Sportivate?
A Sport England funded programme aimed at encouraging more 14-25 year olds to participate in sport and physical activity between 2011-2017. Projects are 6, 7 or 8 weeks long and are designed to attract the least active (doing something less than once a week) young people in our communities.
Sport England has prepared a Youth Insight document which details how young people play sport, what their motivations are, and how they want their Sportivate experience to look.
When shaping your project, it's helpful to consider the six youth personalities you could be attracting:
1. Everyday Youth
2. Thoughtful Improvers
3. Cautious Introverts
4. Ambitious Self-Starters
5. Confident Intellectuals
6. Sport Enthusiasts
Applicants are encouraged to use the Youth Insight Pack to help shape their project, and applications will be partly assessed based on the levels of insight used.
Who should apply for Sportivate funding?
We would like to see applications from all sorts of people. Sports clubs, National Governing Bodies, youth groups, secondary schools/colleges/universities, organisations and workplaces representing 19-25 year olds are all eligible. We are looking really exciting projects to take place, so if you think you could benefit from new members, promotion or some funding all through sport, let us know.
How do I apply for funding?
The Herts Sports Partnership is now taking applications for the second half of Year 6 of Sportivate (delivery between October 2016 and March 2017).
Applications close on 19 August 2016.
Projects will need to adhere to set criteria, and for Year 6, we are focusing on delivering projects for certain target groups. Please only contact us if you are able to focus on;

- Provide an opportunity for long term participation, either at a club, or as an individual
