What it’s all about… #TGCinHerts
This Girl Can in Herts is the Herts Sports Partnership's campaign that supports Sport England’s national initiative to encourage more women and girls to be active. Our women and girls project officer works with numerous partners to bring this county-wide programme to life.
Now in its third year and building on our success to date we are pleased to launch This Girl Can in Herts 2017. To view the success from last year, click on the 2016 tab on the left.
This year we want to encourage all those mums, grans, sisters, cousins, aunties and friends who might just need a nudge. This Girl Can aims to help women and girls whatever their shape, size and ability to overcome the fear of judgement that may be stopping them from joining in. The new campaign for 2017 focuses on the CONFIDENCE, RESILIENCE and BELONGING that comes from taking part in sport.
Look out for This Girl Can in Herts Week 2017 - 3rd to 11th June.
We are encouraging local sports clubs & organisations to open up their doors to women and girls during This Girl Can in Herts Week 2017 by way of female-friendly taster sessions, open days, workshops, courses and competitions. They can get involved either with something specific for the week or as part of their weekly schedules. Activities will included in the programme and we will help promote the sessions in local communities across the county.
We are excited about the opportunities that this provides and are keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved. If you need some ideas, a few of last year's case studies are showcased in the PDF document below.
