About the Service to Sport Awards

The Service to Sport Awards offers recognition to all coaches, officials, administrators and sports clubs for the time, effort and commitment they give to community sport. There are literally thousands of people in Hertfordshire who give up their spare time to volunteer in sport - by putting them forward for an award you are giving them the opportunity to be recognised for their dedication and efforts.

These awards are an opportunity to recognise individual and club contributions over the last 12 months and to acknowledge achievements across all sports in Hertfordshire. Nominations are now closed for this year, but please do contact us as info@sportinherts.org.uk if you'd like to find out about nominating a volunteer for next years awards.

This years awards take place on the 20th September at the University of Hertfordshire Weston Auditorium and we are delighted to announce that one of our speakers is talented local athelete Jodie Williams. Jodie, the first girl to achieve a World Youth Championships 100 metres and 200 metres sprint double is no ordinary sixteen year old. Having never been beaten in her age group, Jodie is fast becoming one of Britain's most promising prospects.

We will also be delighted to welcome our esteemed presenter, BBC Radio Five Live's David Croft, who will also be speaking to Graham Leclerc from the England Cerebral Palsy Football Team and David Clark, Captain of the Great Britain Blind Football team.

Details of all winners and photographs from the evening will be posted on our site after the event, so watch this space!

If you've nominated someone for an award you'll be invited to our Service to Sport awards evening on Monday 20th September, hosted by BBC presenter David Croft. Click here to confirm your place and up to six guests.
