With the start of a new school year there is a new cohort of Year 12 youngsters who are entering the Step into Sport volunteering programme which is active in the School Sport Partnership’s Leadership Academies across the county.

These youngsters are looking to help both school and community club activities and have a range of skills that includes coaching, helping with events, officiating, managing facilities and IT & website work.

The Herts Sports Partnership support the School Sports Partnerships in finding club volunteer placements for those youngsters who do not already have a link with a local club. If your club needs volunteer help from enthusiastic 16-18 year olds then check the Placement Criteria that operates for Step into Sport (these criteria can be ceen by clicking on the links at the end of the article) and send full details of the volunteering placement at your club to Peter Simmons p.j.g.simmons@herts.ac.uk. Please include full club details, details of volunteer work and the contact details of your Club Volunteer Coordinator.
