Valuing volunteers in Hertfordshire' is a major countywide campaign to increase the profile and recognition of volunteering in the county.
The campaign was launched in 2007 and is designed to bring volunteering across all activities to the forefront of communities in Hertfordshire. So whether you spend 30 mins a week making the half time teas or your spend two hours a week coaching, every volunteer should be recognised for the contribution they make.
The overall campaign is supported through the Local Area Agreement and brings together various partner organisations across both sport and the wider voluntary sector.

By thanking your volunteers and giving them recognition for the work they do you can help raise the awareness of volunteering and what it means to be a volunteer. -
Encourage your volunteers to be ambassadors
Word of mouth is one of the best ways of recruiting new volunteers so why not encourage your existing volunteers to promote volunteering to their friends and family? -
Help signpost volunteers to local Volunteer Centres
Do you ever turn away volunteers from you club/organisation because they do not meet your selection criteria or you do not have a suitable role that is vacant? Volunteer Centres can provide a brokerage service to match and place volunteers with your club -
Encourage local networks & committees to engage in the campaign
If you participate in a local committee meeting or Community Sports Network then make sure this campaign features in discussion.
