5th Annual Coaching Conference

The 5th Herts Coaching Conference will take place on Sunday 13 November 2011.


Maggie Jackson, Director of Coaching with Hertfordshire Mavericks, winners of the 2011 Netball Superleague, will be the keynote speaker at the Herts Coaching Conference. Maggie recently won won the Performance Coach of the Year Award at the England Netball Goalden Globe Awards.

Our other contributors are:
• Colin Bennett, Coaching Network Manager (East), sports coach UK, will be looking at mentoring;
David Turner, Principal Lecturer, University of Hertfordshire, continues his look at legendary coaches with a study of Brad Gilbert;
Mike Lynch, Chief Executive, GB Sports, outlines essentials for staying on the right side of the tax man ;
Tony Sephton, Head of Performance Hertfordshire, shares a wealth of experience of working on strength and conditioning with talented athletes; and
Nadeem Shaikh, Managing Director, SMART Way Forward, will remind us of the importance of effective communication skills..

A number of sports are running their own programmes in tandem with the Conference – basketball, cricket, football and judocoaches will hear the keynote address and then move into sport-specific sessions. (To see what those sessions are, click on the name of the sport.)

Cost: £20, which includes lunch - however, the Conference is FREE to all CoachMark coaches**

If you're into coaching, you can't afford to miss the Coaching Conference. The cost of the day will cover attendance at all conference sessions and refreshments throughout the day.
